Editorial policy

How we write, test, check and correct everything on SilverGames

The rules our writers and editors follow, whether the page is about a free puzzle game or a real-money casino.
$ Tested with real money Every casino gets a real account, a real deposit and a timed withdrawal before it's scored.
✎ Signed by real people Every page carries a named author with real, stated credentials.
⚖ Independent scores We earn commission from some links. It never changes a rating.
✓ Fact-checked A second editor checks the claims against the test notes before it publishes.
↻ Dated and corrected Pages are re-checked on a schedule; confirmed errors are fixed in public within 48 hours.

Section 1

Two kinds of content, two sets of standards

SilverGames publishes free game guides and real-money casino and betting content. Both follow this policy, but the testing bar is different.

AuthorA named reviewer who funds and plays the sites themselves.
Checked byA compliance review from Rachel Dunn before it publishes.
LicensingEach operator's licence is checked on the regulator's own register.
Responsible gambling18+/21+ labelling and help-line links on every casino page.
Free game guides

Where to find our trust markers

Every article carries the same five markers.

The five markers
1A named authorWho wrote it, with a link to their profile, credentials and the other pages they cover.
2A named fact-checkerA second person who checked the claims before it went live — not the writer.
3A last-updated dateWhen the page was last re-tested or re-checked, not just first published.
4An affiliate disclosurePlain notice when a page carries commissioned links, and a link to how we rate.
5A responsible-gambling lineOn every real-money page: age limit, and where to get free help.
Section 3

Independence and commercial relationships

SilverGames is free because of advertising and affiliate commission. When you sign up to a casino through some of our links, we may be paid. Here is what that money can and can't do.

Commission pays for ✓ Keeping the games free to play, with no sign-up✓ Paying writers to test sites with real money✓ The time it takes to re-check pages on a schedule
Commission never buys ✕ A higher score, or a place in a top list✕ Removing a fault we found in testing✕ Softer wording about withdrawal limits or terms✕ Skipping the fact-check or the licence check
Section 4

Sources, in the order we trust them

When sources disagree, the higher one wins. A casino's own marketing never outranks our test.

1 Our own hands-on testA funded deposit and withdrawal, or the game played end to end.
2 The regulator's registerLicence status read from the official register, not the operator's claim.
3 Primary documentsTerms, filings and official statements, quoted and dated.
4 Operator supportAnswers from live support, attributed and timestamped.
5 Operator marketingLowest of all. A welcome-offer headline never outranks our test.
Section 5

Keeping casino content away from kids' games

SilverGames is a free games site used by players of every age. Real-money gambling content is for adults only, so we keep the two apart.

18+ Adults only Real-money content is labelled for adults and never shown as a game to play.
2 Separate sections Casino and betting content lives in its own area, away from the free-games catalogue.
0 No crossover ads No real-money gambling ads on the free game pages families use every day.

How we use AI

We may use AI to · Draft an outline, or suggest headings from our own test notes· Check spelling, grammar and reading level· Summarise a long terms page so an editor can verify it faster
AI never · Writes a score, a ranking or a verdict· Publishes without a named author and a human edit· Invents testing, quotes or sources

Section 9

Conflicts of interest

Writers declare any personal or financial link to an operator, studio or game developer before they cover it, and are reassigned if one exists. Staff don't accept gifts, paid trips or private bonuses from operators.

Game developers can submit a game for consideration. Submission never guarantees a place in a guide.
